ARPA’S Prospective of Defense Conversion Opportunities for the Wireless Industry

  • Randy Katz

The plan for the panel session was for me to give an overview from the ARPA prospective of where we see the opportunities in wireless communications, and some of the things that have been happening in defense conversion and in the ARPA managed technology reinvestment project, which is the main technical thrust of defense conversion. Then we will turn it over to the panel members to make their own pitches, somewhere around a 5 minute time frame, about their views on opportunities and challenges in defense conversion for wireless communications. By-the-way, if you do have some good ideas on defense conversion, we are still collecting topics, so I encourage you to try and contact me if there is some wild and crazy idea you have in the course of this panel session.
