Invited Commentary

The authors have provided us with an overview of the problems related to liver abscess, whether pyogenic or parasitic in origin. They have emphasized the need for early and adequate diagnosis and work-up in order to make the least aggressive yet most effective means of treatment for the benefit of the patient.
