Periorbital Aesthetic Considerations in Thyroid Eye Disease

  • Milind N. NaikEmail author

Outcome measures of aesthetic rehabilitation for TED have been evaluated exclusively in relation to postoperative exophthalmometry and palpebral fissure height. However, there are several aesthetic concerns in the upper eyelid and brow region that are specific to TED, yet they have long been outside the purview of our traditional assessment of cosmetic rehabilitation of a TED patient. These include glabellar frown lines, brow fat expansion, and lacrimal gland enlargement.
